Evelyne L. Welshhons, 86, a resident of Monroeville, Ohio and formerly of Davenport, Iowa died on Thursday, November 24, 2005 at the Stine Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Princeton, Iowa. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Davenport where she was a long-time member.
She was born April 17, 1919 in Dale, Iowa, the daughter of Richard & Arminda (Haskins) Lively.
Evelyne was a kindergarten teacher for the Davenport School System for over 40 years.
In addition to the church, she was a member of the Iowa State Teachers Association and the National Teachers Association.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Donna Welshhons of Monroeville, Ohio; her brothers & sisters-in-law, Howard & Arlene Lively and Marion & Margaret Lively, all of Davenport; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice Tague, Ethel Pitsenberger, Eunice Auliff, Amy Skinner and Emma Rossi; and her brothers, James Lively and William Lively.
