Flora Ann Snyder, 80, a resident of Bettendorf, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 28th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Genesis Dialysis Center.
Born on February 15, 1934 in Muscatine, Flora was the daughter of Floyd and Lois (Fordham) Hahn. On June 6, 1953 in Davenport, she married Arnold J. Snyder. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2008.
Flora was a homemaker. In her earlier years she worked at Woolworth’s and Dad’s Cookie Company in Davenport. Flora loved her animals; she collected Isabel Bloom statues and loved caring for others.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Cheryl (Jim) Gabriel and Phillip (Penni) Snyder, both of Bettendorf; three grandchildren, Heather (Jason) McCoy of Davenport, Amanda (Tom) Labadie of Chicago and Dustin Snyder of Bettendorf; four great-grandchildren, Riley, Makenna, Brayden and Colten; and her brothers, Floyd David Hahn of Hampton, IL, Donald Hahn of Davenport and Roger Hahn of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her sister, Doris Gilbert.
Flora’s family would like to say thank you to the nurses and staff at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for the wonderful care they gave to Flora.
