Florence M. Nelson

Florence M. Nelson, 90, a resident of Rock Island, Illinois and formerly of Davenport, died Friday, November 26, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. There will be no services or visitation. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport. Memorials may be made to River Park Nursing Home, Rock Island. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Florence was born on July 14, 1914 in Little York, Illinois, the daughter of William N. & Cora M. Chapman (Louck). She married Paul Raymond Farrell in 1933, he preceded her in death in 1972. She later married Marion J. Nelson in May 1973. He also preceded her in death.
Florence was primarily a homemaker and had worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as a guard in earlier years.
Those left to honor her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Raymond E. & Delores Farrell, Davenport; her grandchildren, Martin R. Farrell and his wife, Bernie and Lisa M. Farrell; her great-grandsons, Marcus W. Lyman & Matthew J. Farrell; and her brother, Frank Chapman, Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Harold and William Chapman, and by her sister, Elizabeth Herrera.
The family would like to express special thanks to Rev. Kerry Sullivan of Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Moline for providing much comfort to Florence and her family during the time she was a resident at River Park Nursing Home.
