Forrest Holland

Forrest G. “Frosty” Holland, 85, a resident of River Hills Village in Keokuk, Iowa, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at River Hills Village.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
Frosty was born on December 18, 1927 in Quincy, IL, the son of Harry and Edith (Brooks) Holland.  On July 18, 1948 in Owensboro, KY, he married Mary Payne. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2011.
Frosty began working for Kinney Shoe Corp following graduation from high school. He retired in 1992 as an auditor. Frosty enjoyed gardening.
Those left to honor her memory include his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Colleen Holland of Bloomington, Indiana and Terry “Doug” and Rebecca Holland of DeKalb, Illinois; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Dorothy) Holland of Keokuk; and one sister, Marcine Whaley of Keokuk.
Frosty was preceded in death by his parents; wife and one sister, Norma.
