Frances A. Fox, 90, of Silvis, formerly of LeClaire, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Davenport Good Samaritan Society or the Silver Creek Order of Eastern Star.
Frances was born on January 3, 1922 in LeClaire, the daughter of William Edwin and Fanny E. (Smith) Hoff. She married John H. Hammill. Later in life she married Milton J. Fox on January 4, 1973. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1976.
Frances worked as a data processor for Alcoa for 10 years and then for John Deere for 18 years, retiring November 30, 1984.
Those left to honor her memory include one son, John (Margarett) Hammill of LeClaire; three daughters, Terri (Chuck) Coopman of LeClaire; Sheryl (Ronald) Murphy of East Moline and Marlene Franklin of Silvis; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-granchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton; one granddaughter, Sarah; three sisters and three brothers; and a special friend, Scotty Doup.
