Frances M. "Fran" Hinkle

Frances M. “Fran” Hinkle, 77, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa died on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at her home following an extended illness.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Park View Lutheran Church where she was a member. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge. Memorials may be made to Park View Lutheran Church or to Heartland Hospice.
She was born May 2, 1931 in DeWitt, the daughter of Frank F. & Sarah (Luebker) Gravert. On September 11, 1949, she was united in marriage to Marvin E. Hinkle in DeWitt.
Fran was a devoted wife, mom & homemaker and for many years, she served as bookkeeper and secretary in the family business, Hinkle Surveying of Eldridge.
She & Marv loved to travel and were avid bridge players. She belonged to several bridge clubs and enjoyed reading as well. In earlier years, Fran served as Room Mother to her children as they attended elementary school.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Marv; her daughters, Pat (Ted) Claeys of DeWitt and Deb (John) Smith of Donahue; her son, Doug (Karma) Hinkle of DeWitt; her grandchildren, Matt Claeys, Mark (Jill) Claeys, Dan (Karla) Marti, Rob Marti & Zach Hinkle; her great-grandchildren, Ryan Claeys, Allison Claeys, Caleb Claeys, Jarrett Claeys, Derik Marti, Kyle Marti, Drake Marti and Jada Marti; her sister, Marilyn Gravert of DeWitt; and many other relatives and wonderful friends.
Fran was preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Hinkle; her sisters, Marlene & Mildred; and her brothers, Alvin, Eldin, Edward & Bill.
