Frederick A. “Fred” Badure, 76, of Davenport passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing Facility, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
Fred was born October 27, 1946 in Mobridge, South Dakota, to Albert and Irene (Raile) Badure. Following high school he continued his education at the University of South Dakota where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in automotive studies. On July 24, 1966 he married Judy Miller in Selby, South Dakota. From 1968 to 1971 he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Following his military obligation, Fred taught auto body classes at Sterling High School (Illinois) and later at Scott Community College, Bettendorf. Prior to his retirement in 2011, he worked as a training director for over 30 years at Bee Line Automotive Alignment, Bettendorf.
In his earlier years, Fred enjoyed hunting antelope, deer and pheasant, and was a member of the Lancers Bowling League where he also served as president for many years. Above all, he was a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Judy Badure of Davenport; his sons, Brad (Toni) Badure of Davenport and Wade (Karen) Badure of Bettendorf; two granddaughters, Rebecca (Bradey) Nicewanner of Davenport and Brittany Badure of Bettendorf; great-grandson, Hunter Nicewanner; brother-in-law, Charles Rueb of Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Aldeen Badure and Diane Rueb.
