Fritz Nemluvil, 89, a resident of Andalusia, Illinois and formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at his home.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 24, 2006 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice.
He was born December 31, 1916 in Bettendorf, the son of Fred & Zedenka (Zathova) Nemluvil and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps as a young man. On April 13, 1946, he was united in marriage to Marian G. Petersen in Clinton, Iowa. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1974.
Fritz farmed for many years in rural Taylor Ridge, Illinois. In addition, he worked at John Deere for 30 years.
Caring for his flowers & garden was a favorite pastime of Fritz and sold tomatoes to the Heinz Company for many summers.
Those left to honor his memory include his sisters, Polly Curtis of New Boston, Illinois, Edith Wilmes of Bettendorf, Helen Johannsen of Moscow, Iowa, Katherine Brown of Durant, Iowa and Rose Higley of St. Petersburg, Florida; many nieces & nephews; and very special friends, Randy & Vickie Brown of Taylor Ridge and Paul Ochs of Andalusia.
In addition to his wife, Fritz was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Peeters; and his brother, Stanley Nemluvil.
