Gary J. Bauercamper

Gary J. Bauercamper, 84, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Gary was born on February 28, 1940, in Marshalltown, IA, the son of Rueben and Estella (Goeke) Bauercamper of Baxter, IA. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and served through 1962. He married Lynne Williamson in Galesburg, IL on November 27, 1974. He worked for Xerox as a copier technician for 33 years, retiring in 1998. Gary enjoyed gardening, landscaping, broom making, & home improvement projects (especially his Treehouse).

Survivors include his wife, Lynne of Bettendorf, his children, Chris McBrien of Galena, IL, Scott (Mary) Bauercamper of Toddville, IA, Don McBrien of St. Paul, MN, grandchildren, May, Noah, Emma, Molly, Julia, Andrew, Isabel & Conor, sister, Mary Kay Thornton of Ankeny, IA and brother-in-law, Tom Gaard of Clive, IA. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Charlene Gaard. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Genesis Medical Center and Genesis Hospice for the compassionate care.
