Gary Soldat

Gary E. Soldat, 75, of Bettendorf, died Friday, July 15, 2016 at his residence after an extensive illness.
At Gary’s request, no services will be held at this time. Memorials may be made to the family for donation to a charity to be named later.
He was born February 20, 1941 in DesMoines, to Jack and Ethel (Mercer) Soldat. Gary was united in marriage to Linda Miller on May 20, 1972 in Davenport.
Gary had an energy about him and a great, dry sense of humor. He was a long time employee of St. Ambrose’s Insurance Continuing Education and AAA of Iowa. His greatest joys included time with his grandchildren, fishing and drinking coffee with the guys.
Those left to honor Gary’s memory include his wife, Linda; son, Jason (Melissa); grandchildren, Logan and Grant Soldat and Mason DeGreve; and nieces and nephews, Mark, Chris, Craig and Lisa Soldat.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Bob (Breta) Soldat.
