Gary W. Woodruff Jr.

Gary W. Woodruff Jr., 64, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Mercy One-Genesis in Davenport.

His funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Davenport. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Gary was born on July 31, 1960, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Gary and Geraldine (Hicks) Woodruff Sr. On August 16, 1980, he was united in marriage to Doris Kay Louck in Blue Grass, Iowa. Doris preceded him in death on July 30, 2019.

He was employed as a welder at Sears Manufacturing for many years, prior to his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed visiting the casinos and loved his flights to Laughlin, Nevada. He also was an avid hunter, camper, woodworker and stock car driver in earlier years. Some of his best times were spent with his beloved kids, grandkids and his faithful canine companions, Zeus and Abby.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Ginger Woodruff and Stephanie Woodruff, both of Davenport; his grandchildren, Trevor Woodruff of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Davionna Hudgins of Davenport; his mother, Geraldine Woodruff of Davenport; his sisters, Felicia (Verne) Keeney of Sun City West, Arizona, Minda (James) Pecoraro of Davenport and Danielle (Timothy) Woodruff of Davenport; his brothers, Walter (Brenda) Woodruff of Davenport, Brian (Amy) Woodruff of Avon, Indiana and Kevin (Kelly) Woodruff of Eldridge, Iowa; his sisters-in-law, Diane Crane of Centerville, Iowa and Peggy (Jeff) Struck Sr. of Walcott, Iowa; his brothers-in-law, Donald (Donna) Louck of Stockton, Iowa and Robert (Shelly) Louck of Davenport; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his wife, Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Woodruff; his brother, Scott Woodruff; his father, Gary Sr. and his sisters-in-law, Sharon Louck and Delores Campbell.
