Gary P. Curtis

Gary P. Curtis, 57, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa died suddenly Saturday, November 8, 2003 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus in Rock Island, Illinois after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at St. Patrick's Cemtery, Garry Owen, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born April 18, 1946 in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Mike & Ruth (Johnson) Curtis. On December 2, 1967, he married the former Mary Ellen VanderMeulen in Dubuque, Iowa.
Gary was a self-employed journeyman carpenter and had been affiliated with the Carpenters Union for many years.
He enjoyed watching football & baseball and especially loved the times spent with his beloved grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter & son-in-law, Debbra & Bret Bennett of Davenport; his sons, Gary Curtis Jr. and Jason Curtis, both of Eldridge; his grandchildren, Ryne Robert Bennett, Hailey JoElle Bennett, Jacob James Bennett and Kyla Elizabeth Curtis; his sisters & brother-in-law, Charlene Herrig, Marie & Vern Ambrosey and Eleanor Curtis, all of Dubuque; his brothers & sisters-in-law, Larry & Pat Curtis of Princeton, Iowa and Al & Helen Curtis of Davenport; his sisters-in-law, Betty and Harriet; and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister & brother-in-law, Bernadine & Ben Manemann; his brothers, James, John & Ronnie; and his brother-in-law, Florian Herrig.
