George Kaucher

George F. “Fritz” Kaucher, 73, of Davenport, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport surrounded by his loving family.

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Fritz was born March 27, 1943 in Davenport, the son of George & Minnie (Boyer) Kaucher.  He was united in marriage to Janice K. Greenwood on October 18, 1967 in Davenport.  He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany for two years.

Fritz had been employed at Sears Manufacturing and most recently with Browns National Leasing.  He enjoyed attending Grace United Methodist Church in Davenport and accompanying his family and friends to McDonald’s in Walcott before and after church services.

Those left to honor Fritz’s memory include his wife, Jan; his daughters and sons-in-law, Tamara & Michael Guilliams and Tina & Timothy Jr. Hildebrant, all of Davenport; his grandchildren, Amanda and Andrew Dunkin, Brittany and Brooke Hildebrant; his great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Madison Dunkin; his sisters, Patricia (Les) Buffington of Buffalo, Judy Jewett of Buffalo, Marie Derrickson of Buffalo and Helen Kaucher of Davenport; his brother, James (Ginger) Kaucher of Blue Grass; and his special little friends, Eric and Corey.

Fritz was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Lisa; and his sister, Carleen “Dutch” Mead.
