George A. Payne, 54, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Monday, March 15, 2010 at his home.
A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. The family will greet friends from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
He was born December 20, 1955 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of George A. & Joanne M. (Mazzarollo) Payne and was a 1975 graduate of Bettendorf High School. George married the former Sandy K. Lafferty in Davenport.
He was formerly employed as a journeyman millwright at the Williams & White Company in Moline, Illinois.
George’s interests were many, but he especially enjoyed music of all kinds and movies.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Kathryn Payne and Rachel Payne, both of Vienna, Illinois; his grandson, Kaydin Brown; his mother Joanne M. Payne of Bettendorf; his sisters, Kathy (Mark) Wilcox of Maryville, Illinois and Julie Payne of Bettendorf; his brothers, David (Carol) Payne of Davenport, Robert Payne of Edgington, Illinois and Clay Payne of Davenport; and several nieces & nephews including a special nephew, Jacob.
His father preceded him in death.
