Georgianna Haessler

Georgianna Haessler, 92, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire. Memorials may be made to the family to later be donated to a charity of their choice.
Georgianna was born September 1, 1915 in LeClaire the daughter of John and Eva (Coffin) Scharff. She was united in marriage to Harold Haessler on December 24, 1931 in LeClaire. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1964.
Georgianna spent her life as a homemaker and loving mother. She and her husband farmed for many years and owned Haessler Hardware in LeClaire. She became co-owner of Olathea Golf Courses in 1984 until her death.
She enjoyed playing cards and going out to eat. She especially like going out for pie. She also loved receiving greeting cards and reading them over and over. She was very much looking forward to all the cards she would receive for her birthday this year. Most of all she loved spending time with friends and family, especially her granddaughter Jamie.
In the last few months of life she spent many wonderful hours with her caregiver, Betty Burkamper of Princeton, IA
Left to honor her memory are her daughter, Susan (Frank Lux) Leander of LeClaire and her granddaughter, Jami (Brent) Morash, Bellingham, Washington.
Along with her husband, Harold she was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Leola Johnson, Eva Ellis and Millie Scharff, her son-in-law, Randy Leander and her grandson, Jason Leander.
The family would like to ask, because Georgianna passed just before her birthday this year that her friends bring her one final birthday card to be displayed at her services.
