Gerald Ketelsen

Gerald Dale Ketelsen, 69, of Pleasant Valley, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial with military honors will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22nd at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gerald Dale Ketelsen Memorial Fund.
Gerry was born on January 23, 1944 in Davenport, the son of Russell Dale and Margaret (Radech) Ketelsen. On August 20, 1966 in Davenport, he married Linda Dugger.
Gerry served his country in the United States Navy from 1961-1964. Gerry was a firefighter for the Davenport Fire Department starting on July 1, 1966 and retiring on November 30, 1995. He was also a master upholsterer. Gerry was a member of the Moose Lodge, National Rifle Association and the Bettendorf VFW Post 9128. He enjoyed NASCAR and Stock Car Racing. Gerry cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife Linda of Pleasant Valley; two sons, Scott Russell (Lisa) Ketelsen of Tacoma, WA and Randall Lee Ketelsen of Pleasant Valley; three grandchildren, Brandon, Devin and Draconna; one great-grandson, Evan; and three brothers, Tom (Patti) Ketelsen of East Moline, Steve Ketelsen of Davenport and Jack Ketelsen of Madison, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
