Gerald F. “Jerry” Liske, 74, of Eldridge, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at his home.

Funeral Services & Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Long Grove.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the church and one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.  Per his request, cremation rites will follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital or to St. Ann’s Catholic Church.  Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jerry was born October 23, 1940 in Rock Island, the son of Oscar & Amelia (Schaecher) Liske.  He had owned and operated Chef’s Hat Restaurants around the Quad-City area, starting work at age 18.  He retired after 41 years of owning a very successful business.  He was a member of the Northwest Businessmen Association.  Jerry was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and collegiate sports fan.

Those left to honor his memory include his children and spouses, Rick & Kris Liske of Eldridge, Jeff & Maggie Liske of Long Grove, Matt & Christie Liske of Donahue, Lori & Joe Cawiezell of Long Grove, Ann & Cory Carpenter of LeClaire and Dave & Amy Liske of Davenport; his grandchildren, Jeni, Alicia, Andy, Natalie, Stephen, Kurt, Kyle, Kerrie, Kraig, Sammi, Sara, Leigh, Allie, Tanner, Bailey, Drew, Cody, Charlie, Brandon, Jessica, Josh, Kyle and Nate; ten great-grandchildren; his sisters, Donna (Harvey) Fest, Jackie (Bill) Waugh, Mary Ann Caveye, Betty (Jim) Hoogerwerf, Kathy (Dan) O’Brien, and Pattie (Judd) Gibbs; and his brother, John (Pat) Liske.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert Liske; his sister, Joan Stone; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Caveye and John Stone.
