Geraldine A. Endresak, 86, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Tuesday, March 01, 2016 at Trinity Bettendorf.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 4, 2016 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She was born in Newton, Iowa on July 15, 1929, the daughter of Perry and Cynthia (Heavlin) Kane. On August 10, 1946, she was united in marriage to John A. Endresak in Davenport, Iowa.
In earlier years, Geraldine worked as a waitress at the former Hilltop Sandwich Shop in Bettendorf and also worked at the Alcoa Company from 1951 to 1953 while her husband served with the Navy in Korea.
Her memberships included the Bettendorf Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxilliary. She was also a former member of the Bohemian Lodge #201, the Moline Vikings Club and the Moline Eagles Lodge.
Geraldine was a devoted member of the VFW Auxiliary for many years and also enjoyed playing bingo and euchre.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, John; her daughter, Jonette (Norm) Appleton of Bettendorf; son-in-law, Richard Bettis of LeClaire; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Bettis in 2015; her son John Endresak Jr. in 1982; her sisters, Jean Toom Witt and Evelyn Severin; and her brother, Robert Kane.
