Gertrude R. "Trudy" Weston

Trudy Weston, 78, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Friday, December 2, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport, Iowa.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Asbury United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday at Strawberry Point Cemetery, Strawberry Point, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Camp Courageous or the Disabled American Veterans. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born March 31, 1927 in Strawberry Point, Iowa, the daughter of Fred & Gertrude (Pilgrim) Fenchel. On September 6, 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert W. Weston in Strawberry Point. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1991.
Trudy was a beautician at The Headquarters in Bettendorf.
She was a devoted member of the church and sang in the church choir for many years. One of her favorite activities was singing with the Handel Oratorical Society in their annual Messiah performance in winter and the Requiem Mass in spring.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters & son-in-law, Mary & John DeCataldo of Charlestown, Rhode Island and Linda Weston of Narrangansett, Rhode Island; her grandsons, Joseph, John, Mark & Paul DeCataldo; her brothers & sisters-in-law, Bruce & Jean Fenchel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Fred & Ila Mae Fenchel of Mason City, Iowa; her sisters-in-law, Agnes Fenchel and Phyllis Fenchel, both of Strawberry Point; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her husband, Trudy was preceded in death by her parents; and by her brothers, Bernard Fenchel and George Fenchel.
