Gilbert R. “Randy” Long, 73, of Davenport, died Friday, December 16, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, December 26, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Oakridge Cemetery in Princeton.
He was born July 24, 1943 in rural LeClaire, Iowa, the son of Lester & Evelyn (Reger) Long and had served in the United States Air Force.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Dawn (Ryan) Dowers of Wichita, Kansas; his sons, Lonnie Long of Davenport, Brian (Tiffany) Long of Rock Island, Travis (LeAnn) Long of Davenport and Troy Long of Davenport; 5 grandchildren; his sisters, Kay, Cherol, Sandy, Carol and Barb; and his brother, Sam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kelly; his sisters, Dixie and Leila; and his brother, Phil.
