Gisele M. Hartson, 73, a resident of Bettendorf died on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at her daughter’s home in Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, June 1, 2007 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Davenport. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. As per her request cremation rights will be accorded. Memorials in Gisele’s name may be made to Genesis VNA Hospice.
Gisele was born June 7, 1933 in Larechel, France, the daughter of Jean and Eglantine (Brunau) Cybulski. On May 8, 1971, she was united in marriage to Wesley C. Hartson in Moline, Illinois.
Gisele attended college in Tousle, France, Madison, Wisconsin and Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She had degrees in Environmental Health and Nursing. She worked as a Psychiatric nurse at the VA Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, the Fitzsimmons Army Medical Hospital in Aurora, Colorado and the State Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado. Gisele was a Lifetime volunteer at Mercy Hospital I.C.U. and later Genesis Medical Center West Campus. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and devoted much of her time to taking care of family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Wes; her daughter, Linda Nelson of Bettendorf; her sons Larry (Vicki) Nelson of Wichita, Kansas, Jean Nelson of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Robert Nelson of Gosnell, Arkansas; her step-daughters, Susan (Russell) Cox of Clinton, Iowa and Sharon (Gary) Vandenburg of Anchorage, Alaska; her step-sons David (Marla) Hartson of Florida and Michael (Ellen) Hartson of Iowa City, Iowa; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister Monique Cybulski; and her brother Serge Cybulski.
Gisele was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michel.
