Glenn Francis Bormann, 72, a resident of Davenport, formerly of Bellevue, Iowa, died Monday, February 19, 2018 at UnityPoint Trinity Bettendorf.
Memorial services celebrating his life will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to the family.
Born on May 4, 1945 in Bellevue, Glenn was the son of Sylvester and Lucille (Kilburg) Bormann. On August 5, 1967 in Bellevue, he married Susan Bees.
Glenn served his country in the United States Army from 1963 – 1966. Glenn worked for John Deere Davenport Works as a machine operator from 1966-1997. He was a member of the Dixon American Legion. Glenn enjoyed repair work and building things. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, and cherished his time spent with his children, grandchildren, and his best friend, his dog, Snoopy.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Susan; children, Shannon Derry of Rock Island, Glenna (Rick) Zaruba of Sabula, Iowa, and Clint (Kari) Bormann of Blue Grass; grandchildren, Chase, Taylor, Sadie and Cole; great-grandson, Cohen; his mother, Lucille Bormann of Preston, Iowa; sisters, Kay (Ken) Nelson of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Deb (Kevin) Bauer of Calamus, Iowa; and a brother, Daryl (Bev) Bormann of Miles, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father; granddaughter, Kira; and a sister, Mary Ellen.
Glenn’s family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Appel, and the Staff in the ICU at Trinity Medical Center in Bettendorf.
