Glenn A. Hansen, 83, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa died on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
His funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel of Bettendorf. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis, Illinois. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to11:30 A.M.. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #1033 of Cordova, Illinois where he was a 60-year member.
He was born August 28, 1925 in Cordova, Illinois, the son of William & Anna (Wichern) Hansen and was a 1944 graduate of Cordova High School. On April 4, 1964, he was united in marriage to Patricia A. Reeves.
Glenn was employed as a truck driver for A.B.F. Trucking Company, retiring in 1990 after many years of faithful service.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the south Pacific and was honorably discharged as Seaman First Class on May 20, 1947.
Among the things he enjoyed were playing golf with his friends and his wife, Pat.
Glenn and Pat enjoyed planting flowers and doing yard work together and traveling. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting & fishing.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Pat; his sister, Geraldine (Ellis) Rock of Ajo, Arizona and his nieces & nephews, Ramona VanLoo of Colona, Illinois, Ernie Rock of Fulton, Illinois, Bill Dupont of Houston, Texas, Carl Dupont and Donald Dupont, both of the Quad-Cities, Harold Hansen of Rock Falls, Illinois, Mary Lou Madonia in Texas, Joyce Marie VanHorn of Morrison, Illinois, Clifford Hansen, Linda Bond of Sterling, Illinois.
His sisters, Helen Weldon, Betty Dupont and Joanne Reddick; his brother, Howard Hansen; his niece, Ruth Ann Bass and his nephews, Stephen Carr and Ronald Rock, preceded him in death.
