Grace E. Fulscher, 81, a resident of Silvis, Illinois and formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Forest Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center in East Moline, Illinois.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the McGinns-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born October 5, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of John & Grace (Grande) Hillock. On July 15, 1944, she was united in marriage to Donald L. Fulscher in Muscatine, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1981.
Grace was employed as a nurse’s aid at the Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley, Illinois.
She enjoyed caring for others, loved to play bingo and treasured the times spent with her beloved family.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Mary Jo (Kerry) Pisman of Sherrard, Illinois, Janice (Ed) Gilmore of Silvis, Suzan (Steve) Hultings of Vincennes, Indiana, Kathy Simmons of East Moline, Nancy (Pat) Moody of Colona, Illinois and Beth Ann Gannon of East Moline; her sons, Donny Fulscher of Moline, Jerry (Pat) Fulscher of Moline and Danny Fulscher of East Moline; 28 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Nancy Gagehagen of Davenport; her brother John (Ida) Hillock of Enterprise, Oregon; and a very special friend, Jean Combs of Moline.
In addition to her husband, her son, Theodore Wayne; and her sister, Betty Wolffe, preceded her in death.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Trinity Hospice and Forest Hill for the professional and compassionate care during this difficult time.
