Grace H. Slater, 79, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Forest Hill Cemetery, Memphis. Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Davenport, Iowa or to Genesis VNA Hospice, also of Davenport. There will be no visitation. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born April 3, 1926 in Serepta, Mississippi, the daughter of William Dewey & Geraldine (Moore) Howell. On March 12, 1948, she was united in marriage to Jack C. Slater in Memphis.
Grace was a devoted wife, a loving mother & grandma. She was an accomplished artist in enjoyed painting in watercolors and oils.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jack; her son & daughter-in-law, Gavin & Pam Slater of Denver, Colorado; and her grandchildren, Amanda & Evan.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
