Grace L. Meyer

Grace L. Meyer, 90, of Bettendorf, Iowa and formerly of Spencer, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, September 29, 2008 at North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Spencer. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 A.M., October 4, 2008 at Christ Family Reform Church in Bettendorf with a luncheon to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Family Reform Church or to the nursing staff of Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Grace was born November 23, 1917 in Spencer, the daughter of Otto & Bertha (DeWall) Schoorman. She attended Spencer Public Schools and graduated from Spencer High School in 1935. Grace was united in marriage to Harvey S. Meyer on November 24, 1938 in Spencer. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2002.
Grace was employed as a secretary for an engineering firm in Spencer for 30 years. She was a member of Christ Family Reform Church.
Those left to honor her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, David & Pam Meyer, of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Kristine (Doug) McDonald, Matthew (Amy) Meyer, Teresa (Bob) Watson, Shelly (Richard) Benham, and Carsha Meyer; her great-grandchildren, Madison, Nathan, Joshua, Jacob and Justin; and other relatives and friends.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 ½ years, Harvey; one brother; and her son, Ronald.
