Graham "Woody" Woodard, 80, of Bettendorf, died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at his residence. Inurnment will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Those wishing to attend the gravesite service should meet at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf at 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Center for Active Seniors, Davenport.
Graham was born on October 24, 1923 in Parkin, Arkansas, the son of Henry & Denise (Parker) Woodard. He married Mary Alice Sullivan on February 7, 1945 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas. After 50 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on December 18, 1995. Graham was employed as a warehouse foreman at Beatrice Foods in Chicago for 25 years, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and taking care of animals.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters and sons-in-law, Pat & Doug King of Burlington, NC, Mary & George Green of Ottawa, IL, Linda & Dennis Powell of Davenport, IA, & Marcy Bales of Bettendorf; his son and daughter-in law, Ralph & Gloria Woodard of Higginsville, MO; 29 grandchildren; & 48 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express special thanks to his many friends for their support over the years.
