Grant V. Hoyt, 88, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 21, 2005 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Willow Grove Community of Christ Church Oblation Fund for the Needy.
Grant was born September 10, 1916 in Lapeer, Michigan, the son of Lyle & Anna (Johnson) Hoyt. He was a graduate of Fennville High School in Fennville, Michigan and had attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
He was united in marriage to Grace St. George on June 25, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2000.
Grant was formerly a Vice President of International Sales and Service for Packaging Technologies, formerly Kartridge Pak. He had traveled extensively around the world for more than thirty years with his career. After his retirement, he joined his wife in sales and service at Grace Marine in Bettendorf.
Grant enjoyed boating, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and he was a devoted member of Willow Grove Community of Christ Church in Bettendorf.
Those left to honor his memory include his sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Kay Hoyt, Park View, Iowa, Dale and Diana Hoyt, Monroe City, Missouri, and Stephen Hoyt, Miramar, Florida; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; his sister, Donna, of Michigan; and his brothers, Donald Hoyt, South Haven, Michigan, Dale Hoyt, Memphis, Tennessee, Russell Hoyt, Phoenix, Arizona, and John Hoyt, of Michigan.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Marion.
