Greta May Freeman

Greta May Freeman, 106, a resident of Bettendorf and formerly of Rome, Iowa, died on Sunday, January 6, 2008, at Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A. M. on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Grant Cemetery, Rome, Iowa.
Greta was born May 15, 1901, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur R. and Maude A. (Mitchell) Dold. She was united in marriage to William H. Freeman on December 8, 1927, in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1940. She later married Tom Freeman in Mt. Pleasant. He also preceded her in death. Greta was a homemaker who dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Frances Ebbsmire of Burlington, Iowa; her sons, William A. ( Jackie) Freeman of Newburg, Indiana, Eugene (Shirley) Freeman of Bettendorf and Larry (Maxine) Freeman of Bettendorf; eight grandchildren, Bill Freeman, Debbie (Dan) Winslow, Linda (Randy) Houston all of LeClaire, Iowa, Sheri (Jack) Eddy of Mesa, Arizona, Diana (Charles) Humnel of Gilbert, Arizona, Mike (Michelle) Freeman of Newburg, Indiana, Teresa Houston and Tammy Russell of Burlington, Iowa; thirteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and her sister, Rosemary Mason of Portland, Oregon.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Fern, her sister Florence Redffern, and her brothers Oral Dold and James Dold.
