Harvey G. Harrop, 84, of Davenport, died Monday, June 29, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Davenport.
Harvey was born January 26, 1931 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of John & Berniece (Renfro Hartman) Harrop. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Harvey was united in marriage to Carol Aye on October 1, 1955 in Davenport. She preceded him in death in 1985.
Harvey was retired from Lujack’s in Davenport after thirty-five years of employment. He was an avid fisherman and, in 1963, became a charter member of the Quad-City Bass Club. He had also been a four-time Fisherman of the Year through the club.
Those left to honor his memory include his son and daughter-in-law, William & Kathy Harrop of Davenport; his grandchildren, William (Misty) Mueller of Long Grove, Iowa, Jeremy (Tara) Schulz of Blue Grass, Iowa and Tracy (Benjamin) LaGrange of Bettendorf; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
In addition to his wife, Carol, Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Nadine Killian; and his brother, Charles Harrop.
