Hazel Haines

Hazel M. Haines, 86, a resident of Riverside, Iowa died Friday, May 7, 2004 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.
Private family services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born April 26, 1918 in Creston, Iowa, the daughter of Jesse & Myrtle (Talbot) Huffman. On July 28, 1958, she married Nathan Harold Haines in Camanche, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1983.
Hazel was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, cooking & baking.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters & son-in-law, Donna Carter of North Liberty, Iowa and Patricia & Bob Hawk of Corona, California; her sons & daughters-in-law, Gene & Cleo Anderson of Sedalia, Missouri and Ron & Janie Anderson of Davenport; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Dorothy Bernauer of Eldridge, Iowa and Beverly McNeil of Davenport.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Fullmer and Francis Berwyn; her brother, Donald Huffman; her grandsons, Randy Anderson and Scott Heber; and her great-grandson, Joshua Healy.
