Heather L. Bolwar

Heather L. Bolwar, 51, of Blue Grass, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at MercyOne Genesis, Davenport.

Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held at this time. Inurnment will be at Floris Cemetery in Floris, Iowa at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Scott County. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Heather was born on October 14, 1973 in Davenport, the daughter of Richard and Patricia (Moore) Bolwar. Following her graduation from Davenport West High School in 1992, she continued her education at Mid-American Nazarene College where she achieved her bachelor’s degree in 1996. In 2005, she graduated with her master’s degree from Michigan State University. Heather taught music education in Japan, Germany, Korea, and Guam for the Department of Defense Schools for 26 years. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, and was a former member of the Quad City Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Those left to honor her memory are her parents, Richard and Patricia Bolwar of Blue Grass; and her brother, Michael Bolwar of Woodland Park, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Ruby Bolwar and Clark and Cecelia Moore.
