Helen Brenner

Helen Brenner, 89, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Monday, October 13, 2003 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation.
She was born December 28, 1913 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Julius & Margretha (Wittrock) Schroeder. On October 22, 1932, she married Virgil H. “Smokey” Brenner in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1973.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and loved shopping with her daughters.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter & son-in-law, Jacki & Chuck Schwenke of Leclaire, Iowa; her son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Fran Brenner of LeClaire; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and her brother, Lee Schroeder of Davenport.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Hansen.
