Helen Glynn

Helen Mae Glynn, 85, a former resident of Bettendorf, died Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Kahl Home.

Private family services will be held with burial at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

Helen was born on May 6, 1932 in Iowa City, the daughter of Charles and Katherine (Bednick) Dubil. On June 21, 1952 in Davenport, she married James Edward Glynn. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2014.

Helen was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf. She worked for many years in retail management. Helen loved caring for her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her family to the beaches of Florida.

Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Mark Edward Glynn of Bettendorf and Shawn James Glynn of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Kerry Catherine Glynn, Emily Kristen Glynn-Pierson, Darrius Alexander Glynn and Ryan James Glynn; great-grandchildren, Palmer Ann Pierson and Bryce William Pierson; a brother, Nick Dubil of Davenport; and a sister, Katherine Holst of Bettendorf.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Anna Korbelik, Mary Lieshner, Eva Jugenheimer and Rose Griffin; and brothers, John and Andrew Dubil.
