Helen Hamann

August 10, 1921 — July 31, 2015

Helen Hamann, 93, a long-time resident of Scott County died on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Kahl Home in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, Eldridge. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the church. Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.
Helen was born on August 10, 1921 in Bennett, Iowa, the daughter of Lorenz and Alvina (Hagge) Goettsch. On April 5, 1939, she was united in marriage to Fred A. Hamann at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2005.
While in high school, Helen lettered all four years in basketball. Helen helped her husband for many years on the family farm. She enjoyed bowling, volunteering at the hospital and reading. Helen and Fred belonged to numerous card clubs. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Women of the Moose.

Those left to honor her memory include; her son & daughter-in-law, James & Sally Hamann of Eldridge; her grandchildren, Kelly Schneckloth & her husband, Tom, Reed Storjohann and his wife, Shawna, Kim Haycraft & her husband, Scott, Blake Hamann and his wife, Anita, Todd Hamann and Karen Storjohann; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kermit Fred Hamann; daughter, Judy Vaught; and brother, Harold Goettsch.
