Helen Rotzinger

Helen M. Rotzinger, 90, of Davenport, formerly of Bettendorf, died Friday, August 21, 2015 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton, Iowa.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Helen was born September 11, 1924 in Westchester, Iowa, the daughter of John & Eva (Goodwin) Polton.  She was united in marriage to Roy H. Rotzinger on September 22, 1945 in Davenport.  He preceded her in death on September 5, 1973.

Helen was retired from the former Edna’s Café in Riverdale where she had been a cook and waitress for twenty years.  In earlier years, she had worked at the former Woolworth’s in Davenport.  Helen had also been a life member of the Bettendorf Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9128 Auxiliary.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Lori Baca of Davenport; her grandchildren, Julie, Jerry, Jaye, Tommy and David; several great and great-great grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Holly Rotzinger of North Liberty, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, Roy, Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Janice Suchomel; her sons, Delbert Roy and Randy; her granddaughter, Sandra Suchomel; her sisters, Leila, Mildred, Priscilla and Susie; and her brothers, Martin and Clifford.
