Helen Schumann

Helen Catherine Schumann, 83, a resident of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus in Davenport.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, February 13, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the 700 Club.
Born on March 1, 1931, Helen was the daughter of Martin and Ida (Young) O’Boyle. In 1960, she married Dale Schumann in Hannibal, Missouri. He preceded her in death.
Helen retired from the Rock Island Arsenal. She enjoyed dancing and watching the Christian Broadcast Network. Helen cherished her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Kathy (Bob) Palmer of Moline and Daniel Lackey of Bettendorf; five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Lynch of Rock Island; sisters-in-law, Lee Brown of Pleasant Valley, Bea (Gyorgy) Lopez of Davenport, Marge Schumann and Norma Schumann, both of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Forrest; sisters, Mary Phyllis Dengler, Genrose Young; and brother, Darrell O’Boyle.
