Helen Stoneking

Funeral services for Helen Lucille Stoneking, 89, of Trenton, Florida, formerly of Davenport, will be 11:00 on Friday, May 7th, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Private family graveside services will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Friday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Helen passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at North Florida Regional Hospital, Gainesville, Florida.

McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting family with arrangements.

Helen was born on January 13, 1932 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie and Katherine (Bryant) Dowell. She married Everett C. Stoneking on September 6, 1975 in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1991. She was employed as a personal management specialist at the Rock Island Arsenal for 20 years, retiring in 1980. She then worked as Senior Secretary at the Holland Law School at the University of Florida for 25 years.

She was an active member of the Christian Fellowship Community Church, Belle, Florida, and a former member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene, Davenport.

Helen is survived by sons, Rodney (Deb) Kuehl of Eldridge, Iowa, Jeffery Kuehl of Trenton, Florida, Douglas (Lori) Kuehl of Grant Park, Illinois, grandchildren; Sam, Sarah, Josh, Chrissy, and sister; Marjorie Schumann of  Bettendorf.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Everett, brothers; Charles Dowell, Leslie Dowell and nephew; Charles Dowell.
