Helen Boyer Talbot, 87, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa died Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Helen was born January 10, 1924 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Harry A. and Lillie (Anderson) Boyer. She was united in marriage to George W. Talbot on March 22, 1946 in Moline, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1979.
Helen worked in the mailroom at the Quad City Times for many years retiring in 1988.
She was a very active member of the Center for Active Seniors (CASI) and her church, Calvary Chapel Foursquare, LeClaire.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, ceramics, dice, euchre, cribbage and quilting.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Rosemary (Ron) Mess, Princeton, Iowa, Bonnetta Jackson, Barstow, Illinois, Bill (Ona) Talbot, Davenport, Janet (Emerson) Smith, Colona, Illinois, Jane Talbot, LeClaire, and Florence Talbot, LeClaire; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and her sisters, Dorothy (John) Talbot, Fairfield, Ohio, Lillian (Orville) Sneed, North Liberty, Iowa and Patricia Karasek, Bondurant, Iowa.
In addition to her husband, George she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Talbot, two grandchildren, one great-grandson, her sister, Mary Stewart and her brothers, Harry and Finley Boyer.
