Helen B. Johnson, 94, a resident of Davenport, formerly of Buffalo, Iowa died Friday, October 3, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. till the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Senior Citizens Housing in Buffalo.
Helen was born February 20, 1914 in Chinook, Montana the daughter of Arthur Rosie (Harvey) Burkett.
She owned and operated a dry cleaner service in Capistrano Beach California. She also owned and operated several taverns and was a building inspector and overseer at Signal Mountain Lodge in Wyoming.
She was a member of the Rock Island Boat Club, the Eagle Lodge, the Moose Lodge, Turners, CASI and the LULAC Club in Davenport.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Mack (Joyce) Ferrick of Avondale, Arizona, Tim (Marcy) Ferrick, of Tombstone, Arizona and Rick (Lisa) Ferrick of Florence, Arizona her eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Jack Burton and Malcolm Ferrick; her sister, Genevieve and her brother William.
