Helen E. Moran, 87, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Monday, January 12, 2004 at Crest Health Center, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 15, 2004 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Davenport.
She was born February 16, 1916 in Scott County, Iowa, the daughter of Walter Raymond & Elizabeth (Leamer) Kirby. She was united in marriage to James Milton Moran at Summitt Presbyterian Church in Scott County on August 24, 1939. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1975.
Helen & her husband farmed in Scott County for a number of years. She later was employed by the Davenport Public Schools for over 20 years.
She was a loyal & long-time member of Christ United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women as well as a number of other church related activities.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Mary Reiter of Davenport, Donald Moran of Davenport and Blanche Parks & her husband, Lee of Ormond Beach, Florida; her grandchildren, Shelli Williams & her husband, Jason of Davenport, Eric Reiter of Davenport, Kristi Morgan & her husband, Jamey of Kettering, Ohio, David Parks & his wife, Mandy of Tampa, Florida and Erin Clark & her husband, Lewis of Ormond Beach, Florida; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruth Littrel of Davenport; her brother, Floyd Kirby & his wife, Marj of Davenport; and her sister-in-law, Marie Kirby of Princeton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Neva Danson; and her brothers, Marvin Kirby & Horace Kirby.
