Hellen I. Cadwallader, 81, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 11, 2009 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 A. M. at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Hellen was born August 29, 1927 in Fairfield, Iowa the daughter of Charlie and Dorothy (Stacey) Lovedy. She was united in marriage to Grant A. Cadwallader in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death.
Hellen worked as a baker for the Iowa Machine Shed in Davenport, Iowa, Ross’ Restaurant in Bettendorf and Jumer’s Castle Lodge in Bettendorf.
She enjoyed sewing, baking, quilting and working in her vegetable garden. She also loved animals, children, and holidays, especially Christmas.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Orba (Thomas) Zinger, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Schelley Sanders, Moline, Illinois, Mary (Dennis) Schmit, Des Moines, Iowa and April Westbrooks, Fort Worth, Texas; her son Gregg (Carla) Cadwallader, Battlefield, Missouri; her twelve grandchildren; her sister, Jean Mueller, Medford, New York; and her brothers, Ray (Cathy) Lovedy, Manchester, Tennessee, Bernie (Shirley) Lovedy, Aledo, Illinois and Lenny (Jean) Lovedy, Keithsburg, Illinois.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Norma Blackledge, Rita Myer and Evelyn Morrow and her brother, Chuck Lovedy.
