Henrietta R. Hoffmann, 91, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa and formerly of Guttenberg, New Jersey died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility in Bettendorf.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Bettendorf Presbyterian Church where she was a member. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bettendorf Presbyterian Church or the Iowa Masonic Health Facility Resident Fund. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born April 14, 1919 in Hoboken, New Jersey, the daughter of Bernard & Augusta (Bick) Garibay. On November 9, 1941, she was united in marriage to George L. Hoffmann in Hoboken. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Henrietta was a licensed practical nurse and worked in health care in New Jersey and in New York City, New York. She retired in 1980 after 30 years of faithful service.
In her spare time she enjoyed reading, dancing and traveling with the Plus-60 Club.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Carol (Paul) Schnyder of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Dr. Christine (Robert) Pierce of Melrose, Massachusetts and Peter (Dorothy) Schnyder of Marietta, Georgia; and her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn & Abigail Pierce and Etta & Anna Schnyder.
