Henry C. “Hank” Claussen, 91, a resident of rural Bettendorf died on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Pleasant Valley or to Camp Courageous of Monticello, Iowa.
He was born September 28, 1918 in Davenport, the son of Carl & Annie (Koch) Claussen. On February 18, 1942, he was united in marriage to Jeanette R. Ehlers in rural Pleasant Valley.
Hank had farmed in rural Scott County all his life. He was a former Director of the Clinton Milk Association and of LeClaire Township schools. A long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley, he had served on the church council at one time. His other memberships included the Scott County Farm Bureau and the Moose Lodge.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife Jeanette; his daughter and son-in-law, Carol & Alan Musal of Princeton, Iowa; his son and daughter-in-law, Dan & Peg Claussen of Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Brad Musal, Mark Musal, Kristi Cordle, Shelli Engelbrecht, Danet Dexter, Jeff Claussen and Kelly Benson; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and three brothers.
