Herbert Hoover “Herbie” Warren, 88, of Davenport, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. Mary’s Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Davenport.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
Herbie was born June 30, 1929 in Davenport, a son of Forrest G. & Clementine C. (Berry) Warren. At the age of eleven, his grade school class was among the first to walk across the brand new Centennial Bridge.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Raymond in Davenport in 1960. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2000.
Herbie had worked for Wonder Bread for forty-four years. In earlier years, he was a vendor at the former John O’Donnell stadium. He had been very active with CASI in Davenport in recent years.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Kathy Simmons; his sons, Jerry Warren, Gary (Tammy) Warren and Mike Warren, all of Davenport; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Vickie Davis of Davenport; his brother, Harvey (Kathy) Warren of Warner Robins, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Joyce; Herbie was preceded in death by his son, Roger Warren in 1979; his sisters, Clementine Warren, Martha Druhl and Catherine “Kitty” Kirk; and his brothers, Forrest Warren Jr. and William “Cannonball” Warren.
