Hester “Jane” Conklin, 86, a resident of Bettendorf, died Friday, June 15, 2007 at Bettendorf Health Care Center.
A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice, 1020 W. 35th St., Davenport, Iowa 52806. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
Jane was born April 27, 1921 in Mercer, Missouri, the daughter of John & Lou Ella (Whan) French.
Jane had spent the last 20 years working as a pie specialist at Hy-Vee in Bettendorf. She enjoyed crocheting and being with all of her friends at the Hy-Vee store.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Leo; her grand-daughters Jessica Conklin of New York, New York, Bridget Conklin and Brittany Conklin both of Walcott, Iowa; her niece, Sherrie Stark of Corydon, Iowa; her friends, Teddie, Brian, Pat, Bob, Betty and Von; and many very special friends at Hy-Vee.
Jane was preceded in death by her son, Timothy C. Conklin; and two sisters.
