Ilene Hyslop

Ilene Ann Hyslop, 77, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at her residence. In accord with her wishes, she has been cremated and there will be no public visitation.
Ilene was born August 18, 1938 in Grayling, Michigan, the daughter of Oscar and Ethel (Waite) Horning. She graduated from Grayling High School. She was united in marriage to James Hyslop in Michigan. He preceded her in death.
She worked in the offices of TRW and DHL for years. Her love of fishing for catfish and working puzzles was only topped by time spent watching children’s movies with the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Cynthia Abbot; grandchildren, Desiree, Matthew, Thomas, Amber, and Bobbi Jo; daughter-in-law, Lamona; sisters, Shirley, Irene and Betty; brothers, Robert, Oscar, Ted, and John; several nieces and nephews; and spouses of these loved ones.
In addition to her husband, Ilene was preceded in death by her sons, David and Greg; parents, Oscar and Ethel; and siblings Ellery, Adam, Doris and Donna.
