Imogene Brown-Saunders, 89, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
Private family services were held at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born in Greeneville, Tennessee on February 23, 1935, the daughter of Willis P. and Hassie Selma (Ricker) Hawkins. On June 5, 1955, she was united in marriage to Jack L. Brown in Greeneville. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1997. On May 2, 1998, she was united in marriage to Richard W. Saunders in Davenport. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2004.
Imogene was a devoted wife, mom, grandma & great grandma. In earlier years, she had worked as a secretary for the Department of Navy in Washington, D.C. and at Moore Business Forms in Davenport.
She was a former member of AARP and the Royal Neighbors.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Richard Lee Brown of Moline, Illinois; her grandchildren, Breanna Glaudel and Cory Brown; her great-granddaughter, Adaline Glaudel; and her sister, Dorothy Mae Humphries of Greeneville, Tennessee.
In addition to her husbands, Jack and Richard, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Kane and her grandson, Cody Brown.
