Irene Olson

Funeral services for Irene J. Olson, 93, of Bettendorf, will be 11:00 am on Friday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Friday from 10:00 am to service time at the funeral home.

Irene passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Irene J. Jackson was born on July 10, 1928 in at Marble Hill, Missouri. She married Arvid Olson on July 10, 1946 at St. Mark’s Church, Davenport. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1991. She worked as a nurse’s aid at Mercy Hospital and Osteopathic Hospitals, Davenport. She retired in 1990.

She loved to be with her family and enjoyed all of her grandchildren. She liked to take care of her flowers, garden and her Yorkie, Amanda.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter; Linda (Olson) Hivert, and son-in-law; Jean Hivert D.C. of Davenport, her three grandchildren; Melissa (Jason) Penhollow, Jeanna Hivert, Mykel Olson, nine great-grandchildren, Megan, Decoda, Jessica, Allie, Brendon, Camaeron, Dyllon, Kirsten, Tristen, and four great-great-grandchildren, Breanna, La Michael, Ada and Sully.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Agy, husband, Arvid Olson, son, Clifford Olson and granddaughter, Lisa Noles.,
