Iris Kirby-Kotowski

Iris V. Kirby-Kotowski, 98, of Bettendorf, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility in Bettendorf.
Per her wishes, there will be no services or visitation and cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to a charity of the Donor’s choice.
Iris was born August 13, 1913 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Richard S. & Annie C. (Neal) Kirby. She was united in marriage to Arthur B. Hansen Sr. on December 26, 1929 in Baltimore. She later married Edward J. Kotowski in Elkton, Maryland. He preceded her in death.
Iris was retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the former Mercy Hospital in Davenport for many years. She had also been a pharmacy clerk and a Christmas ornament decorator.
Her memberships included the Women of the Moose for over sixty years, the Center for Active Seniors and the Quad-City Times Plus 60 club.
She enjoyed painting and crossword puzzles.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Ann Shirley Cook of Bettendorf; her son, Arthur Bernard Hansen Jr. of Fayetteville, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Brenda Cole, Anita (Jerry) Thiel, Linda (Mark) Ruebling and Christopher Cook; her great-grandchildren, Ryan Ruebling, Laura Ruebling, Zachary Cook, Rachael Thiel, Iris Thiel and Alex Cole.
